Timeless Dragon is a great recurring threat for casual and Commander decks alike. There’s only a few of them, but some can be incredibly impactful. While not the best color for dragons, white dragons tend to vary wildly in theme and aesthetic. They also appeal to more casual players for the simple reason that they let you swing with massive flying beaters at your opponent’s face. They’re widespread both across traditional fantasy and in Magic’s lore. People love dragons because they’re iconic. Red is usually in their color identity and they’re mostly large, flying creatures. However, Cobra Kai season 3 sprinkled in flashbacks to Kreese's past, at last providing necessary context to the key events that made him the man that fans got to know from The Karate Kid into the present-day events of Netflix's series. In Cobra Kai season 3, Kreese made sure his students ran roughshod over the Valley as he sought more athletic fighters to fill the dojo's ranks - primarily, Tory Nichols (Peyton List), and Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan), who was both Johnny's estranged son and Daniel's former Miyagi-Do pupil. But also on the other hand, it has to be remembered that it is necessary to provide investors, customers and the regulator involved in the sector with a common yardstick with which the performance of industry players can be assessed.Īlso, looking through the scale-based method of regulating NBFCs, smaller NBFCs are subject to relatively lighter oversight compared to other NBFCs.Over the past few weeks, the COVID-19 pandemic has turned everything upside down. It may appear unfair at times that the parameters used for credit ratings are applied universally to all NBFCs, be it large or small NBFCs. There is a view that rating agencies should look at NBFCs based on size. Looking at the repo rate cycle, even if RBI works on another rate hike of 25 bps in February, the fixed deposit (FD) rates of banks as well as NBFCs have currently peaked. With this, we expect to see more actions on the front of the bond. Other than this, some further increase in NBFCs’ borrowing costs on account of RBI’s policy for inflation control are also expected in the year ahead. We expect that the central bank will begin to assess NBFCs from the point of view of complying with the relevant guidelines, some of which have been permitted to be adopted over a glide path of three years. The scale-based regulations prescribed by RBI for NBFCs will further play out in more detail in 2023. ![]() How will 2023 be different from 2022 for the NBFC sector? Looking at this, gold loan and affordable housing loan segments could benefit from some favourable measures in the forthcoming Budget. The overall focus of the government should be towards encouraging secured retail lending in the sector. They would majorly want this to place them at par with banks and HFCs. ![]() Alongside this, NBFCs would wish for new measures, such as lowering the limit for invoking the SARFAESI Act. Secondly, affordable housing financiers would probably root for bringing back the Credit-Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS). NBFCs’ wish list from the Budget would majorly revolve around two things: new measures for ease of doing business, and implementation in the lending part.įirstly, fintech players would want greater ease of doing business enabled by more enhanced collaboration with banks working through the co-lending model. In 2020, Spotify struck a reported $100 million deal to secure exclusive licensing rights to Rogan’s show - one of the largest acquisitions ever in the podcasting space. In 2018, the podcast famously (or notoriously) made headlines when Tesla CEO Elon Musk appeared, sipping whiskey and smoking weed with Rogan for a bizarre, 2.5-hour live interview. The show has built an avid fan base, along with legions of detractors, since it launched in 2009. To his fans, he’s a bold and curious mind at work, using his podcast to investigate and elevate ideas considered controversial or fringe by the mainstream. To call Rogan polarizing would be an understatement. He gained national attention around the same time as the host of NBC’s “Fear Factor” reality series. Rogan, whose website describes him as “mixed martial arts fanatic” and “psychedelic adventurer” among other things, was a regular color commentator for the MMA promoter Ultimate Fighting Championship in the early 2000s. He’s someone who requires a lot of slashes: Comedian/commentator/podcast host/media personality. His Spotify-based podcast’s Covid commentary created a backlash that led several musicians and customers to boycott the platform. If the question becomes “podcasts or music,” Spotify only wins if the answer can plausibly be “music” or “both. If Joe Rogan wasn’t already a household name before last week, he almost certainly is now. If that point does arrive - a big ‘if’ but not impossible - Spotify may have to have a reckoning with the sunk cost fallacy and assess whether it needs to take a tougher line with its star podcaster. The artists who have left so far are legendary performers often idolized by younger musicians, and if more follow as rumored, there could come a point where the question shifts from “why on Earth would you leave Spotify?” to “how can you possibly stay on Spotify?”. Even if the amount earned directly from the platform is pretty derisory, streaming platforms indirectly drive sales of tickets for live shows and merch.īut that’s not to say this couldn’t escalate very quickly. Removing themselves from Spotify could be career suicide. Younger artists - the type who, on average, are more likely to appeal to the median Spotify user - don’t necessarily have that same luxury. No doubt the Spotify income is a nice earner for the artists in question, but they’re renowned enough not to need the additional exposure and have already made plenty of money from the music game over the pre-internet decades. It’s no coincidence that the artists who have felt comfortable making a stand are of a certain generation that made their fortunes before the advent of streaming. There’s a real risk that this could get out of control for Spotify, and make its $100 million investment in the Joe Rogan Experience look like small potatoes.īut there is definitely potential for the streaming platform to tough it out, as well.
